Trauma Recovery & Empowerment Model Support Group

About TREM

TREM stands for Trauma Recovery & Empowerment Model and is a support group focused on the goal of overcoming the effects of physical, emotional, and/or sexual trauma that clients have experienced in their lives. TREM is an evidence based, trauma informed, survivor centered program. It is recommended that clients attend one support group per week, focusing on one topic at a time. Some of the other goals of TREM include letting go of anger, learning positive ways to cope with stress and hard times, developing personal strength, learning about your true self, regaining your self esteem, trusting yourself and your decisions, and feeling alive again.

The following list includes some, but not all, of the topics taught in the TREM Support Group: What it Means to Be a Woman, Physical and Emotional Boundaries, Self Esteem and Self Soothing, Intimacy and Trust, Female Sexuality, Understanding Trauma, Abuse and Relationships, Trusting Your Judgment, Blame, Acceptance, and Forgiveness, Goal Assessments, Truths and Myths about Abuse.
